3. Price and Fees
- The price is quoted in US dollars. The service fee and tax are included.
- The transaction fee is 3.5% of total amount. The transaction fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. The fee is subject to change according to the rate of payment company.
- Passengers aged 14 and above require an adult ticket.
- Passengers aged 6 to 14 require a child ticket.
- A child under the age of 6 and accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket may travel for free provided that the child does not occupy a seat/sleeper.

5. Ticket Refund Rule
High speed trains running between Hong Kong and cities in China mainland
- The redeemed e-tickets cannot be canceled over the internet. Redeemed e-tickets should be returned to the counter at the railway station for cancellation.
- Cancellation made within the Spring Festival peak season will be uniformly charged as 50% of the ticket price.
- No refund will be given for altered tickets.
- No refund will be given after departure.
- The refund scale is subjected to change according to China Railway's rules without further notice.
- Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before departure. For same-day cancellations, please visit a railway station counter.

6. Ticket Alteration Rule
High speed trains running between Hong Kong and cities in China mainland
- No alteration can be made to the destination.
- More than 48 hours before the train departure time, you can endorse your ticket to that of another train available within the pre-sale period.
- Within 48 hours before the train departure time, you can endorse your ticket to travel by another train scheduled to depart before the original train, or after the original train but before 24:00 of the original date; it is not possible to change the ticket to a train scheduled to depart the next day or later.
- Alteration requests must be made at least 24 hour before train departure. For same-day alteration, please contact our travel consultant first. Call us if it is an urgent alteration request made less than 48 hours before the departure.
- No alteration is allowed after departure.
- Only one alteration will be allowed for a ticket.
- If online alteration fails, please visit a ticket counter with your original passport to modify your ticket.
7. Information for Passengers Using e-Ticketing
- High Speed Rail e-ticket is issued under real-name policy.
Personal identification documents must be presented and verified for all ticket purchases, after-sales services and upon request on trains. Each valid identification document can only be used to buy one ticket for the same train on the same date. Passengers’ proof of travel are the valid identification documents used for ticket purchase. Any accompanying children who are eligible for free travel, the proof of travel are their valid identification documents used for declaration upon purchase of the tickets. - Acceptable valid personal identification documents:
- Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (referred to as Home Return Permit)
- Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (Non-Chinese Citizens)
- PRC Resident Identity Card
- PRC Residence Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents
- PRC Residence Permit for Taiwan Residents
- PRC Foreign Permanent Resident Identity Card
- PRC Exit/Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao

9. Immigration, Departure & Arrival
- Ensure your visa or entry permit for mainland China is valid before traveling. Passengers without a valid visa or permission to enter mainland China may be denied boarding.

Departing from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station
Passengers are required to use the Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Permanent Residents (including Non-Chinese Citizens), PRC Resident Identity Card, Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents or valid Passport that used to buy the ticket for boarding procedures.
Passengers may proceed for real-name checking, security check, immigration and boarding procedures as early as 120 minutes prior train departure. Normally, these procedures can be completed in around 30 – 45 minutes. Passengers travelling during weekends, public holidays, festive seasons or summer holidays; or using traditional immigration counters; or passport holders should allow extra processing time.
- Real-name Checking and Ticket Verification
Go directly to the Self-service Gate or the Staff Assistance Counter in the Ticketing Concourse (Level B1) and present your identification documents to complete the real-name check and ticket verification at the same time. The relevant procedures will cease 30 minutes prior to train departure - Security Check and Immigration Formalities
Follow the instructions for baggage and security checks. Prior to security check, you are also advised to empty out your pockets (e.g. mobile phone, coins, keys and etc.) and put them in handbags or hand baggage for facilitating the process. Then go to the Departure Concourse (Level B3) to complete both Hong Kong and the Mainland immigration formalities - Boarding
Enter the boarding gate on Level B3 using the identification document or QR Code Ticket1 and board the train. The gates will open 15 minutes before departure time and close in the last 5 minutes - Arriving at a Mainland Station
Exit the gate using your identification document

Arrival in Hong Kong:
After the train has arrived at West Kowloon Station:
- Alight from the train at the platform on Level B4
- Head to Level B2 to complete one-time immigration formalities for both Hong Kong and Mainland China
- After arrival in Hong Kong, exit the gates using the train ticket and depart from the West Kowloon Station to continue your journey on foot or via a connecting transportation option.
10. Baggage Regulations
- The total maximum permitted weight for baggage is: Adult 20 kg, Child 10 kg, Diplomat 35 kg; with total dimensions (length + width + height) of each item not exceeding 130 cm
- Elderly, young children, sick passengers, disabled passengers and pregnant women using mobility aids for travelling, their folding wheelchairs, and the folding strollers used by accompanying infants can be carried free of charge which are not subject to the above restrictions. The total weight of a mobility aid and its users shall not exceed 200 kg; with the dimensions of the mobility aid not exceeding 120 cm (length) x 70 cm (width)
- High Speed Rail does not provide a baggage or parcel consignment service
- Visually impaired passengers can travel on the High Speed Rail accompanied by a guide dog wearing a guide dog harness. Relevant permits must be presented to staff for checking
- Any items that are dangerous, explosive, flammable and explosive, toxic, corrosive, radioactive, contagious, or any anything else which may affect the safety of passengers, staff, the station or trains are strictly prohibited anywhere on railway premises and in trains
- Please ensure you are aware of the latest exit and entry regulations or restrictions on the permitted volume or quantity of certain carry-on items
- The range of prohibited and restricted items is extensive. For details, please refer to the "Rules for Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High Speed Rail Cross-Boundary Passenger Transport"
- A kind reminder: According to the "Rules for Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High Speed Rail Cross-Boundary Passenger Transport", flammable liquids including antibacterial hand sanitising gels or sprays containing ethanol (alcohol) are prohibited on trains. If required, please use alcohol wet wipes.
The MTR Corporation has the absolute authority and the sole discretion to refuse permission to board of any passenger found with any items that are dangerous, explosive, flammable and explosive, toxic, corrosive, radioactive, contagious or anything else that may affect the safety of passengers, staff, the station or trains, whether or not they are included in the list above.

China Railway has the absolute authority and at its sole discretion to refuse permission flammable/ toxic/ corrosive items whether or not they are listed above.
- Please read carefully the Terms and Conditions before submitting the booking. If you make a reservation for others, you are responsible for informing the passengers every detail regarding the booking. Once reservation is completed, changes or cancellations are not allowed.
- Booking is non-refundable and non-transferable. Review the booking to make sure the names, dates and other details are correct.
- For some products, you may require to redeem the official tickets at a designated location. Please reserve enough time for ticket redemption. No-show is not a reason for refund.
- Seats are randomly arranged by the computer. Changes or cancellations are not allowed after submitting the booking.
- In case of typhoon or other severe weather conditions, product suppliers may cancel or re-schedule your trip. We will try our best to inform passengers of those changes. When the suppliers charge a cancel or change fee in accordance with their own policies, the cost will be passed on to you.
